We are spending the first few weeks getting to know the skill level of our students. Physical Literacy is way to see what areas we need to target regarding basic skills. It also creates a benchmark for the students to improve on during their time in G.W.A. It will ensure that we are monitoring progress. We will have fun on the journey.
Hi, my name is Dean Winders. I am originally from the North East of England and studied at Reading University earning my BA(Ed) in Physical Education. My passion for educating lifelong learners started in the classroom, teaching grades 2-5 and eventually becoming a Key Stage coordinator. My personal interests always revolved around sport so it seemed a natural transition to become a full time P.E. teacher. I believe that sport not only creates a healthy body but it also creates a healthy mind.
I have been in Dubai for 15 years and have enjoyed working at several prominent schools within Dubai, Jumeirah College, Dubai English Speaking School and Rashid School for Boys, where I was head of department for 9 years. I have played many sports at club level and particularly enjoyed rugby and football. My main interests now are to stay fit, strong and healthy and I do this by cycling, and using the gym. I also enjoy travelling with my family, sometimes to relax and sometimes to set ourselves new challenges within the trekking world. I am very excited to be joining the vibrant G.W.A. team and being part of the exciting journey that the school will be offering you. |
